Our wish is to offer you a unique and more personal hotel experience. We want you to feel at home when you’re staying at our hotel – that means we go the extra mile to ensure your needs and wants are fulfilled. If you need anything, we stand ready to assist.

The extra mile

Our focus is on delivering that little extra that makes your stay with us memorable. Our guests can enjoy free admission to the Vikinghallen fitness center as well as excellent discounts on selected restaurants and bars in Bergen. Inquire in the lobby for more information.

Transport and parking

The airport express coach – and most other buses in Bergen – have stops by Bryggen, no more than a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Just around the corner you will also find Rosenkrants parking garage. If you prefer vertical travel to horizontal, there’s always the Fløyen Funicular just down the street.

What’s on in Bergen?

There’s always something happening in an official World Heritage City and European City of Culture such as Bergen. VisitBergen has all the highlights and events worth checking out in their event calendar.

Explore Bergen

The perfect starting point
From our hotel every sight worth seeing is close by.

Fløibanen
100m

A visit to mount Fløyen to enjoy the fantastic views is all but mandatory when visiting Bergen. Just around the corner from the hotel lobby you’ll find the winding roads leading up to Norway’s most famous mountaintop. If you don’t care to work up a sweat, you can also ride the Fløien funicular which takes you to the top in just 5 minutes.

Bryggen
150m

Bryggen – literally “the dock” – is one of Norway’s seven UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites and, like mount Fløyen, is considered a mandatory stop for anyone visiting Bergen. Take a leisurely stroll through the venerable wooden alleyways and visit the art galleries and quaint cafes – perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

The Fish Market
200m

The charming Fish Market in Bergen has been both a social and commercial hub for the inhabitants of Bergen ever since it was first established in the 1200s. Those deciding to go for a stroll between the colourful stalls and crying hawkers will find mainly fresh seafood, but also vegetables, fast food and restaurants.

Bergen Aquarium
1.7km

When it rains in Bergen, it pours. What better place to escape to, then, than Bergen Aquarium’s warm and thrilling tropical exhibition? The aquarium hosts everything from atlantic cod and mackerell to zebra sharks and the rare Philippine crocodile. Be sure not to miss the sea lion show!

Old Bergen Museum
3.2km

Experience old Bergen with narrow alleyways, small wooden houses and see how Bergen looked like in the 18th century. Visit the clockmaker and Norway’s oldest clocks, the tinsmith’s workshop or sample some freshly baked buns in the bakery. There’s a lot happening in the summer months – be sure to check the calendar!

Ulriken 643
3.5km

“You haven’t really visited Bergen until you’ve been to the top of mount Ulriken”, the saying goes – and we agree wholeheartedly. Ride in one of the historic cable trolleys Perle or Bruse all the way to the top – 643 meters above sea level, or – if you’re feeling up for it – follow the mountain trails all the way up. We promise the view’s worth it!
